True, but I can't pick on the smokers too much, I used to be a smoker too, but it was mostly because I was trying to fit in with everyone at college lol I think most smokers are like that, it's an image thing. Most will say that it's because they need it to deal with life, but smoking actually makes your more anxious and depressed, like alcohol, so, really, if you want to deal with life, find something else to take the edge off. Just my opinion, it's cool if you don't agree. |
Right. I can understand the vauge positives behind smoking (social reasons, mental), but I tend to think there are far more beneficial things out there than spending $4.50 a pack in Ohio on something that provides very little real benefit.
I always looked at it this way: If I smoked a pack a day, at $4.00 per pack, I would be spending just under $1,460/yr on said meaningless addiction. Now, some may not be able to quanify $1,460/yr, but for me that could be a lot of things - a car, video games, internet, ect. Such objects are far more beneficial, for coping with life as well as social benefits.
Most vices are that way with me - I can't quanitfy given vices (prostitution, drugs, alcohol, gambling) by weighing cost vs. benefit as compared to more legal products.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.
