One solution could be to stop posting platinum holders after a certain number. For example only list the first 50 people to get it. Or whatever number the majority thinks is appropriate.

 

one alternative would be to only list the last 10 people to get a platinum for that game.

That is another way but like Odin said we should reward the first few to get platinum by having their names permanently on the list.
