how superficial will the launch of the next generation of consoles be?
I guess I am just still anticipating the heights of this generation so much, that the next is soo far off that it is just silly.
Nintendo can change into their next gen. But couldn't Sony and Microsoft theoretically release firmware updates for motion controls or head tracking or whatever it might be for the current generation of consoles?

If and when the nextbox launches, will developers be able to produce something on it that looks so much greater than the current generation?
I think the difference between the 720 and the PS3 would be negligable in the eyes of the consumers. We have reached a point where it would be a crime if all 3 consoles did not offer very good HD graphical capabilities and some form of motion controls.
The point is.. regarding the OP,
Don't assume that Microsoft is going to default to launching first again. They are probably afraid to death of it.
Nintendo is in a great place, there next console has the potential to bring so much more to the table than the wii does.
Sony and Microsoft can only bring a control scheme and better online.
