As far as the article goes I do think that to an extent it is only natural for some segments of US media to favor an American company. I know I would love Microsoft if I was American. Having said that I don't want to generalize and the majority of people probably don't think that way but I'm confident a lot do.
Regardless the gaming industry like any other industry is ever changing and evolving and nothing is permanent. Not many people would have believed that Sony could dethrone Nintendo with the PS1 or that Sony would go from first to last with the PS3 but both things happened.
Sorry for going off topic and as far as the PSP goes while it is definitely not doing as well as it could/should it is nevertheless far from dead, especially in Japan.
