They may or may not know about gaming, but the base problem is not knowing that PS3 games come on BluRay discs.  Man I would love a PS3 that can't play any of the older games and can't do BluRay discs!

Why can't Sony put all the old games online available for download?

The real problem I see with this idea is that it would require Sony to put a huge hard drive on the console. That could well be almost (or more) as expensive as the Blu-Ray drive.

 

It's not that easy to put all the old games online. It costs money and if they did that, it would just make them lose twice as more money.
