The number of PS3 or XBox 360 games that are at a full 720p/1080i @30fps, and are considered visually impressive, is a fairly exclusive club ... I don't really expect more than a couple of games to achieve 1920x1080 at a sustained 60fps, and I wouldn't expect the games that do to be considered all that remarkable as far as their visuals go.
Sony and Microsoft will continue to play around with odd resolutions, scale to a standard resolution, and market the game as being displayed at that resolution but that is another argument.
