I suppose it depends on your definition of legs. Obviously the game is going to be the must have game for the console, and will have a ridiculous attach rate. I actually think the game can push over three million units in its first week. The hype, expectations, and hype are staggering.

The first month on the market I expect it to dwell within the top ten. Probably within the top five. The following month I expect it to stay within the top twenty. The month after that it will go back into the top ten perhaps for the next two months. After that it will spend the next year in the top thirty.

Great games have great legs even if they have massive launch hype and sell through. Take Gears and Zelda as prime examples. Must have system games usually account for a high attach rate with new purchases, and as the install base grows so to will total sales. Hard to imagine people buying the machine and not buying this game to go with it.

I agree the price has functioned as a wall to consumers, but given the persistent popularity of the multiplayer. The previous generations players are going to feel cornered soon. They either move up in hardware, or they get left behind. I know half a dozen Xbox owners scraping together cash right now. Hardcore competitive games have launch windows. They will find it hard to accept they will not be the best this time around.
