It's called "Buttering up".

1. I think MS would buy Yahoo because Yahoo could make money for them or add value. Not just because Yahoo hates Sony.

2. Steve Ballmer wouldn't care about this article when considering buying Yahoo. He probably never knows this article exists. Do you really think someone from Yahoo would bring the article up during negotiation? "Hey Steve, we had this article bashing Sony PSP at the end of December 2008. We are totally on your side."
