ps3 have a back up utility too, and upgrade the 2.5 hdd is hardly 5 min, remove the cover unscrew remove the drive insert the new one. @mrstickball, tech isnt but its propietary in the way you have to buy a m$ hdd or doing all the mumbo jumbo you just mentioned. this time around sony have done a great job designing their hardware that its easy to upgrade, power cable got lost or broke? u can use any pc power cable. @Sqrl fair enough, but i 3.5 are big more noisy and require more power, ps3 or 360 would have been bigger, more noisy and comsume more power. 2.5 is standard enough, and its easier to replace than own laptop HDD. |
"The removable storage device must use the FAT32 file system in order for the PS3 to recognise it. If you have an external hard drive that's formatted in NTFS, you can use the Disk Management utility in Windows to reformat the drive, but you'll need to create partitions on large external hard drives because Windows can only do FAT32 on drives 32GB or smaller. "
Thats the issue there. If you want to transition HDDs you have to reinstall a bunch of games, and your thumb stick has to be FAT32. Its an added complication which makes an already intimidating process seem daunting for your average user.
Tease.
