I dunno why people still think the 360 is cheaper.

I replaced my RRoD Xenon with a new Jasper recently...

If my purchase had been a new one:

$200, console
$100, 60 GB HDD
$100, wireless adaptor
$15 rechargable controller pack + cord
--------------
$415, unless you want to pump your controller with AA batteries constantly ($15 recharge kit is a steal compared to the AAs)

...pretty sure that's more than the price of a 80GB PS3, and with the PS3, you get a "free" Blu-Ray player, after you consider XBox 360's price. A HDD and wireless adapter are pretty freaking commonplace purchases -- I cannot imagine a serious 360 owner without a HDD (that would suck... no serious number of savegames, no demos, no HDD installs), and not many people care to install wired networking in their homes these days.

You can shop around and get the wireless adaptor for cheaper, why would you buy a console and a harddrive seperately? Batterys don't get eaten up as much as you thin, and wireless being more common than wired??!! I don't think so ... stop flaimbaiting kid.

Umm...  The HDD + console costs the same as the HDD+console combo?  And do you have any idea what AA batteries cost, as well as how much shelf space retail outlets devote to wireless over wired networking?

I guess that sore spot attracted the rabid fanboys who defy logic to make their arguments.  Sorry to all, if I drew those posters into this fine thread.
