Why 500k in NA/Others? .. even JRPG's on the 360 don't do great in NA let alone on the PS3. Much the same situation in Others too.

Becouse other jrpg tend to get more sales from NA+Others combined than from Japan:

IU: 120k Japan 290k rest

TLR: 140k in Japan, 260k rest

ToV: 160k in Japan 110k in NA still not released in Pal regions

I wanted to add ES (PS3) numbers but VG chartz doesn't have them :)

So far most jRPG on HDconsoles sold as much copies in non Japan than they did in Japan why should WKC be exception ?

UGH! have you even thought about what you just said? Look at the userbase comparisons. The 360 has more than 17 x the userbase in NA than in Japan and over 10x the userbase in Others than Japan. The PS3 only has under 3 x the userbase in NA than in Japan and just under 4 x the userbase in Others than in Japan .... How do you expect a JRPG to sell better on the PS3 than the 360 in North America when the 360 has double the userbase??

 

That would be true for typical genres like FPS but imho for JRPG there's pretty defined, dedicated and limited userbase which buys them. So even if PS3 had 50 milions more users in west it wouldn't increase sales proportionally.

 

Again I ask how do you expect a JRPG to sell better on the PS3 than the 360 in North America when the 360 has double the userbase??
