Compare Spirited Away or something of that ilk if you want a "real" comparison. Either way, it's just fanboy ranting. Both countries produce fine animation if the budget allows it. Neither one has a real edge in either storytelling or technical bells and whistles. They're just different styles. And before I get any anime freaks jumping on my back talking about how fabulous Japanese storytelling is compared to American, I have one word for you... Pixar. Just because it's geared for kids along with adults doesn't mean that their works aren't masterpieces. In fact, one could argue that it's far more difficult to create a child-friendly story and make it good than it is to create one geared entirely for adults. |
but pixars uses cartoon representations their incredibles structures are not really human same for the fat people in wall-e, japanese CGI its more certain to do a more realistic representations of humans in animation.
square have a good while doing it (spirit within, advent children), and pixar said it's something hard to archive.
