I think that record stands at about $150 million for Spiderman 3 in the U.S.

Let's just hope that it doesn't follow the "delivery" of Spideman 3, too.

As in, turn out to be a total letdown for the majority of viewers/players.

Also: Before anybody says, "OMG HALO3 PWNS SO BAD THESE PREORDER NUMBERS PROVE IT", I doubt Halo 3 will have legs for very long at all. I expect that it has such high preorder numbers because most, if not all, of the people who WILL want the game - ever - already know that they will. As a result, they're all buying it right away.

It's the same concept as the fact that anybody who wants Halo 3 probably already has a 360, so Halo 3 won't move many consoles.

Not long legs ehh? Having the one before it sell what 8 milliion i guess doesnt suggest it will have long legs, at all, i know when i bought my 360 first games i got where halo 1 and 2, same thing with each new 360 sold, likely that a high percentage will buy halo 3 soon after. I dont know how you can say that, with 1.5  million preorders (dont know exact number) your telling me that from the 8 million people before it, only 2 million or so are going to buy it? i find that far fetched. Again no one can predict the future, but really it doesnt make much sense

The same concept could be said to all games and fans, that most people who want games like ff 13 halo 3, SMG, etc already have their consoles. You cant know that, no one knows. This concept is guessed, along with that it will push huge ammounts, no one knows, heck it might not be much of a push at all, or it could be a massive one.

With regard to Call of Duty 4 having an ultra short single player campaign, I guess it may well have been due to the size limitations of DVD on the XBox 360, one of various limitations multi-platform game designers will have to take into consideration-Mike B

Game trailers-Halo 3 only dissapointed the people who wanted to be dissapointed.

Bet with Harvey Birdman that Lost Odyssey will sell more then Blue dragon did.
