Kantor, I bring up R2 because it was supposed to be one of the systems biggest games and it sold like crap. It may not be one of the biggest, but it was supposed to be. And if you reread my post, I didn't say the ps3 doesn't have any good games that aren't shooter. I said quite the opposite actually. It was just ironic that the fanboys, who bash shooters on the 360 so much, were telling us R2 was going to be so great. Now they moved on to KZ2, another shooter.
Axum obviously completely missed the point of my post as well. Did I say that I actually wish ill will toward the game? No, i'm excited to play it. I even made myself more clear in my second post. Please read and try to understand someones post before you post a direct reply to it. I also didn't say it was shooterbased, but whatever. Somehow managed to completely miss both of my points.
Kantor, people say they flopped because their sale numbers are incredibly low compared to the estimates "experts" were predicting before they launched. Both of those games did very poorly when you take that into consideration. If they were just another no name game coming out, then ya those sales numbers are very respectable.
Also, you can't compare perfect dark with halo 3. First, nobody EVER expected perfect dark to perform as well as halo 3. Ever. Second, perfect dark was a launch title. Even if every single person who had a 360 at the time bought it, it still wouldn't have been close to halo 3's sales. Before it's launch R2 was supposed to be a huge game. It was supposed to be one of the ps3's best titles. Now it comes out and it flops. Now people act like it was just another small title that came out, and they we shouldn't compare it with KZ2. Sorry, that's not how it works. They're both high budget exclusive shooters for the ps3 coming out fairly close to each other. There's no reason not to compare them. Btw, if you want a better example for the 360 you should be comparing gears 2 with halo 3. Those were both the high budget shooters on the 360 that were supposed to be awesome and sell very well. Trying to say that comparing a launch title and the 360s flagship title is like comparing KZ2 to R2 is just silly.
