I'm not going to comment on everything else in here, since all has been said.
But this!
Yes football is the most popular sport here, but saying that it's the only sport people watch and play is just plain ignorant.
Road bicycle racing, handball, rugby, formula 1, skiïng (and other winter sports) are huge in Sweden/Norway/..., Tennis, etc.
Yes football takes the crown, but there is plenty of room for other sports.
