Well, I bought my PS3 in January 2007 for $599.99 because I thought all of the great game series that were on the other Playstations would come to the PS3 exclusively and that it would take over the market, because I thought the Wii would fare like the past two Nintendo consoles and it was something I could do without until it had a pricedrop and maybe showed that it could get some rpgs unlike the GC and N64 which had very few in comparison. And I couldn't find a Wii in my local stores plus I thought at best the Wii was going to just turn into a good console for younger gamers.
Then, the 360 received Assassin's Creed (which was supposed to be a PS3 exclusive) then Devil May Cry 4 was announced then RE5. Then at E32008 it was announced that the 360 (I've had one since March '06) would be getting Final Fantasy XIII while the Wii has just totally been dominating the market. In addition to the games I mentioned earlier, I am interested in Mad World and No More Heroes and the rumored Suda 51 / Kojima Snatcher remake. Plus the upcoming Zelda and Mario. Then it was announced that LA Noire was coming to the 360. I haven't purchased MGS 4 yet but I think it will probably appear on the 360 by the end of '09. The exclusive dlc for 360 Fallout 3 and GTA IV among others whereas the PS3 versions were buggy at release. Finally, the thing that has really put a wound in my relationship with PS3 is the fact that as said earlier mine won't connect to my DSL, so I can't enjoy the free online facets of games like Killzone 2 or Home or Little Big Planet.
The one reason I would keep my PS3 at this point is for the blu-ray, but I have an Oppo dvd player which provides excellent playback from normal dvds.
