I would probably recommend the PC upgrade, I have a PS3 and the only thing I really use it for is Blu-Ray and a dust collector. KZ2 is coming out soon so I guess this could change and that would mean moving it out of my bedroom to the living room. Unless you want to play a lot of games for it, I would hold off until it drops in price a little. I know I wish I had. Not trying to pick on the PS3, I am sure lots of people can say something similar to the Wii or x360.
On another note, you can just play your backlogged games, and send the money to me. That sounds like a great choice to me!
