But didn't this holiday season prove that its not all about price?
Yes, the 360 dropped its prices and had a really nice boost. But the Arcade is cheaper than the Wii and its still is getting FAR outsold by it.
So, is the 360 outselling the PS3 JUST because of price? Does every 360 sold make the PS3 more redundant due to similar/same game quality/titles?
Regardless, if the PS3 drops price $50 sometime in 2009 (which, honestly, is the most realistic cut considering Sony's financials), will that be enough of a drop to seriously cut into 360 sales? Its debatable. That would put the console at $349/449 vs the 360 being $199/299/399. If you look at that, it still looks like the PS3 is more expensive because IT IS.
IF MS decides to drop the price, expect it to be in the $20-50 range, depending on the SKU (Arcade/Pro/Elite - $179/269/349?).
