I'll drink practically any beer 'above' the common Aussie beers (ie, New, VB, XXXX, Carlton draught, etc). If I have to drink one of those, VB is probably my current choice. If what's on offer is below (eg, Tooheys Red/Blue), then I'll probably not drink beer.
As for a favourite, I suppose that Bluetonge Ginger Beer is my current favourite. I prefer general a sweeter beer.
