If its the older PS2, sometimes during start up the exhaust fan speeds up and then slows down in the middle of gaming sessions it speeds up to accommodate the CPU temp.

Other than that you said its louder than the 360. The 360 fans don't run that loud its the 360 DVD drive that spins at 12X.

 

Then I guess there's someting wrong with my 360 to becaue it makes a loud noise when there is no disk inside.

And yeah, it's an old PS2. Bleh. >> I'll go trade it in and if it's still loud, I'll live with it.

What type of loud noise, let a jet plane taking off? or what? If it sounds like buzzing annoying sound then thats normal its the fans spinning.

Yea there is no need to trade in bro, all you need to do is exchange it for another one if you have bought that PS2 within 7 days.

Either live with it or buy a new PS2. You should of bought a used PS2 Slim, my friend said they were selling both old models and the slim models. Go back and check that offer out.

My friend by the way works at Gamestop.
