It all depends on what kind of upconverter your dvd player has. Honestly I bought into the whole Blu-ray omg is the greatest hype, and to be honest it isn't tons better. At one point I was thinking of selling my PS3 to get a wii and ds. Unfortunately the wife bought a few Blu-rays for me for Christmas so I doubt I will now ( she would be pissed ).
