The difference between SDTV and HDTV?

It really depends on your personal preferences. Some people, after being exposed to HD, find it as jarring to go back to SD as going back to black and white from color. I, however, among others, find the difference between resolutions to be negligible, i find that it's about input cable, the difference between Composite and Component, VGA, HDMI, etc, being the key issue

 

It will make a difference either way, but it depends on your preference as to whether it's the "essential" difference
