Yea, selling the PS1 and PS2 for $299 and then selling the PS3 at $599 was a bad mistake. But then it isn't really a video game console, or is that what consumers think?
Well, the main fact is probably $399 is a gr8 value but Sony dropped the bomb going for more power then developing a good video games console. Adding blu-ray, wi-fi, ps3 backwards compatibility, memory card readers, and then taking away the memory card readers and ps2 compatibility... Sony just needs to focus right now on making a good video game console rather then justifying a $399-599 price point. Seems they might be too late.

End of 2009 Predictions (made Jan 1, 2009): My predictions were pretty accurate, the 360 was over and the Wii was just under.
Wii: 65 mil (yea I'm crazy) 360: 35 mil (its getting there) PS3: 30 mil (the slim better do well)
End of 2010 Predictions (made Jan 7, 2010):
