Yeah, the save points especially remind me of Rogue Galaxy.
Hopefully I'll like the game a lot more than Rogue Galaxy. Rogue Galaxy's non-existent story, random encounters, and sometimes brutal save points (the jail? my gosh!) made the game a bit troublesome to get through for me. I still haven't finished it, and I may never.
