Grade Point Average:
Simplified its like this...
A = 4
B = 3
C = 2
D = 1
F = 0
Add up all your classes and divide by the number of courses you have had to get your GPA
So if you get:
A, A, B, C, B
You add: 4+4+3+2+3=16
Then divide by the number of classes or in this case 5: 16/5 = 3.2 GPA
4.0 is considered the best but many schools allow you to get higher with Honors and Advanced Placement (AP) courses.
Edit: The more advanced system for GPA uses this instead...
| A+ | = | 4.00 pts. |
| A | = | 4.00 pts. |
| A- | = | 3.67 pts. |
| B+ | = | 3.33 pts. |
| B | = | 3.00 pts. |
| B- | = | 2.67 pts. |
| C+ | = | 2.33 pts |
| C | = | 2.00 pts |
| C- | = | 1.67 pts |
| D+ | = | 1.33 pts |
| D | = | 1.00 pts |
| D- | = | 0.67 pts |
