Well that's a fault on the gamers. I've been a man of supporting the unique and the new yet still all people rave about on sites like this is the new Gears of War or Killzone 2. Sure LBP will get some hype but it almost seems forced. But nothing for the really new and bold games. On the Wii, it seems to get more hype but sales most of the time won't back it up until further down the road.

Just a problem in the industry right now. We crave new things but us and the reviewers are hypocrites. The MGS's and Zeldas and Halos will still get reviewed better than an amazing new game. And to a certain extent they should, but shouldn't a hell of a lot of hype be around games like De Blob, Prince of Persia, Dead Space, ect. Of course there never is and we give 10s to games like GTA IV. This then pushes devs to stop taking risks and release more sequels and run of the mill titles. And on PS360 this really happens a lot because risk taking is limited thx to high development costs.

So that's something we as gamers need to start solving and it starts with the people who hype it. Better marketing from within of the developers and mainstream media sites need to stick to their word. Then of course when it releases make a statement and buy it first day.
