there is no guarantee Nintendo would dominate next gen market but if history teaches us anything, it is certain that Nintendo will try to make another pure gaming machine, not multimedia center. It is also a given that it would be cheap to manufacturer from day 1.
On a personal note, I believe in the humble Shigeru Miyamoto and his willingness to bring fun to all gamers. As long as he is heading the design for the new Nintendo consoles, I don't think Nintendo would ever be complacent.
