I think that there are definately simularities after playing both games. The fact that you press a button in both games so a beam of light shows you your path as well as the princes new outfit making him look simular and also some other simularities in the world has me agreeing that Prince of Persia didn't rip off Shadow of the Colossus but was influenced by it.
