I've heard the same thing, but my hopes are high because I heard they were planning to put crash damage into GT5:P this spring. If that is the case, then I would assume they got the OK from all the manufacturers.

Wow, now that is good news.

I've always wondered why it was such a big deal anyway... I mean, Forza 2 has damage, so why do the manufacturers make such a big deal out of it for GT5?  Or am I missing something?

I heard it is because they pay the manufacturers to use the cars in Forza. Gran Turismo is so popular, that they don't pay a dime to use a single car in the game. In fact, I was watching one of the promo videos on the PSN where they actually gave a prize away of having a manufacturers/owners car in the game.

So I would imagine since they aren't paying to use the cars, that not all manufacturers are willing to let the cars get damaged.

Personally, I hate it when you don't damage your car in a race (arcade games like Mario kart are an exception), cause then you can just grind along the rails.

Yeah no doubt.  Thanks for the explination, it actually makes sense, and it's one of those paradoxes in life that was bugging me!

I definitely agree on the damage thing, I prefer a race to be as realistic as possible (which is why I like Forza 2 so much when I use the feedback-steering wheen, hard as hell, but very realistic)

Yeah, and as for Mario, it's in it own league, so I agree with that
