So are Epic dead? Get your head out of your ass. There is more money to be made with the Wii but it's not the only way to survive as Wii fans are sure to find out. If you haven't noticed yet, Sony and Microsoft financially support companies who make games for their systems. |
Would you have said the same thing last generation with the PS2. You know, there are very few companies out there that make just PC games. The onces who actually focus on it has somewhat of a strangle hold on the market. Their games are always high sellers selling better then most console games. This is becuase PC gamers are more loyal to a set company ansd their games.
But consoles are not the same way. Gamers are fickly, and can be easily swaed(spelling?). Look at most of the major publishers last year. Was there any out there, besides Nintendo and Microsoft who didn't support the PS2. It would be hard to find one that's for sure. And I can tell you that those companies "tried" to make good games for the system(I say tried as not all games are dested for greatness). Not supporting the Wii is a big mistake. Ubisoft will eventually relized, as with all game developers, that you Wii games need tio be good, or you can't fund your big games. And games for just the 360/PS3 are not going to make back the money you lost on development. In fact, look at all the developers lining up to the Wii. Their smart. They know they can't leave it alone. Even Rockstar is making Wii games. I think I can safely say that not supporting the Wii is not going to help in the long run.
