I work in the automotive industry in Australia. The retail side to be more precise, we are beginning to find it very tough!!! Sales are down by 30 odd % , and when you survive on a commission thats not ideal...
But luckily enough i was smart enough to fix my mortgage a year ago while interest rates were rising...They've now fallen to more than 1% lower than i'm fixed at...Which would mean i'd have to pay $58,000 dollars to 'break' my contract with the bank and get back onto variable interest.
Finally, just to help my situation, My girlfriends brother who was living with us and paying board has now moved out! Which means we now need to pay an extra $150 a week...
Amazingly the only thing i've done to cut expenditure is gamble less/better, and funnily enough i seem to have more money/ be better off than before...(i think i was drinking and gambling more with my GF's brother...)
