I've never convinced myself that Plasma's were worth the risk for the small quality increase. I'm not an absolute videophile, so a good LCD set that is well calibrated is plenty for me, and much cheaper with very comparable quality. I'm hoping my current LCD set holds out until I can get a decent sized OLED TV which will absolutely blow everything away!

Unfortunetly I am one of those people who's eyes can see the motion blur of very fast moving images and the ghost trails it creates/artifacts, and I simply can't stand it, this is not an issue I see on plasma screens. There is also the fact that black levels are still superior on plasma given the same sized and priced tv.

I've also noticed that Plasma screens like Panasonic or Pionner just handle SD content allot better than any LCD ever would, and seeing as I have allot of SD content, the last thing I need is for it to look crap on my tv when it doesn't have to, I mean it won't look as good as HD but it at least wont look like an peice of artifacted shit.

I got my Panasonic 42inch 1080p plasma for like $2114AU, and that includes 3 year warranty and home delivery, now to get the same picture quality I would have had to spend allot more than I did in order to get those rich black levels, natural colours, and non motion blur on an LCD, other wise I would of ended up with blacks that are greyed out, motion blur, and SD content looking like shit...so yeah I guess I am a videophile and seeing as TV's are bought based on their image quality, then what I've mearly done is get the best image I could for the lowest price I could, bang for the buck baby.

Oh and my tv has just arrived, time to set things up.
