I've been playing X-COM: Terror From the Deep all week. It's more hardcore than anything this generation. It's a DOS game and it's abandonware, so it's a free download, and you can play it with DOSBox on a PC or a Mac. It's better than just about anything that's come out since (1995), and the whole game is about 12 Megs, smaller than Tetris DS or Nintendogs or Geometry Wars.
Graphics are absolutely nothing to gaming.
