lol your last part got a little to complicated for me hehe but all I'm seeing in art work other then realism is a human desire to be creative with a subject matter, not a desire to fix up something considered boring. If reality were boring as you say, we would have no need for nature photographers or amazing HD cameras that pick up all the little details so our movies look glorious and amazing. The representation of the world in all its beauty is something alot of artists strive for. This doesnt make surrealism obselite though, and neither does surrealism make realism obselite.

If you wanted to look into surrealism even further, its style is to break down what is considered real, it destroys conventional thinking, it never tries to fix up reality, or ad to it but to fantisise it :) and fantasy is awesome! but if everything were fantasy then we would be kidding ourselves. And if everything were pure depections of reality to the core we would live in a very unimagenative world. The human imagenation is amazing and I think it should be used to its full potential, in art, in games, in movies etc.

BUT! when we put all human creation and representation of what we see aside and look at reality for what it is, the world in all its beauty and complexity, real life is by no means boring, and that is my argement. You can not use the human imagenation to say the real world is boring. The fact that human imagenation spawns from inspirations from the real world is a well known artist fact. Reality is far more inspired and creative then any form of human designed art work or creation.
