First off, I must point out that for GAMES we cannot do that, not without tremendous effort and processing power, it's one thing to compare rendered screens to actual gameplay footage.

Second, I also must point out that just because we can (or more accurately will be able to) immitate real-life in video games does not mean that developers will. Mario for example, does not strive to be realistic at all.

....You know what, I'm not even going to explain this, there's no point, everyone has an opinion and chances are they aren't going to change it.

Simply put, some like realistic graphics and details, others don't. We have games available for both groups.
