I don't think i've ever said that though have I? Or were you referring not to my post?
I think that Nintendo tried to do things during the GameCube generation, and that was try to be slightly more mature but with a younger edge to it, while also TRYING to attract the mature market with games like Metroid Prime and Geist. They also tried to be different for the sake of being different, which was a mistake, it made them more niche and have less of a market.
But what I think Nintendo has realised this generation is that it shouldn't fight against Microsoft and Sony for the market that they are fighting for, the so called 'mature' games market. They are 'letting them have that market' so to speak. That's not to say that those people wont buy a Wii, it's just going to have different types of games to them. Nintendo IS targeting a totally different market this time.
When saying it's the non gamers console - it is - but no gamers games can still be a hell of a lot of fun. Simple addictive fun to pick up and play games is where it's at for the Wii, while also providing a range of Nintendo fan games... which suits me as I've said because I enjoy those games.
i wasnt refering to your post, although i am now. i still dont like how you refered to it either. i realize, again, you mean nothing negative about what your last paragraph states, but i still dont agree with it. i shouldnt have used zelda as an example. let me go to some third partys. i dont agree its a "nongamers" console. its just not the whole truth. does it target non-gamers like no other console has done before? yes, without any doubt. does it target regular-hardcore gamers ANY LESS than previous consoles? NO, it does not. take madden, its for EVEN MORE hardcore gamers. im a huge madden/football loser, love the series, and the wii has revived the dieing series. check gamespot, the wii got higher review for 07 for the next gens than xbox and ps3. and its in no way for non gamers. its extremely difficult, and complex, only true madden people will like it. the wii may be getting a GTA port, it very easily could get KH, it will have some FFs, those games wont work the controller in hardly at all, yet will still work great, with EITHER the wiimote-nunchuck combo or classic controller. they are the gamers games. its not a non-gamers console and ill argue it anytime anyone calls it that. its a console for EVERYONE.
it seems that in looking to the FUTURE, nintendo has left NOTHING behind.
A delayed game is good someday, a bad game is bad forever.
