I finally got more time alone with a PS3, and have a few more thoughts. You know what? Resistance is a fun game. It is my type of FPS. It's been since December when I last played it, and after trying Rainbow 6 out for a few moments, and deciding it's not for me, I went, put in Resistance, and played until, well, until my friend came back downstairs and we played a Sherlock Holmes game. No more questions.

For the record, I did follow people's advice, make my own profile, although weird thing I noticed, and it's probably thankfully good, Resistance tried to reinstall itself to the HD, but saw itself and finished instantly. Rainbox 6, less so, though that is apparently a temp install.

But after playing Resistance right after a 15 minute, snake cam wriggling extremely mysterious health regeneration game of Rainbox 6 (What, I can get shot 400 times, so long as they are spread out between 20 second intervals?), I noticed something very important, and I think my concern is style of control. I like being able to move.

In Resistance, you're mobile, your charecter moves like his legs are 360 degree pivoting mechanical wonders that never lose their balance. In more recent shooters, the darkness, Rainbox Six, even gears of war, your charecter moves somewhat like a clumsy 12 year old boy growing into his body. Well, maybe not that bad, and certainly more realistic than our mechanical I can cross-step really fast guy, but it distracts me. They walk really slowly, whether firing or not. And for some reason, this really bugs the hell out of me? If I got shot, I don't mind a brief slowdown of "OMG, this hurts", yet for some reason, I can't abide by a patient slow walking, can barely move at all, let alone while being shot game.

Anyone notice they have a preference for this, and possibly, why?

See Ya George.
