Yes. Like saving a princess from a firebreathing turtle.

Several of the best games of all time feature this story, but is that what we really want? Games that are fun? No, the industry needs to make games like movies, they should have tons of cutscenes and long loading times so that we really have the necessary time to think about the stories.

@misterd: Some people still mentioned Zack & Wiki among third party failures on the Wii recently, i.e. this month.

Then they're idiots. Its like claiming BG&E or Psychonaut sales as proof that third party titles didn't sell on the PS2.

The title was a success, and there was talk of a sequel, even though it belonged to the least "in" genre - the point and click adventure. It also lacked the multiplayer arm flapping early Wii games were famous for. Does anyone think this would have been a smash on the 360 or PS3? Of course not.

It the game serves as a poster for anything, it is for the reluctance of gamers to embrace what is different, but also of the effect a vocal and loyal audience can do through word of mouth campaigns.
