At least these things are coming out. It will probably be several years until drives of this size are affordable though.

Its ironic that most people were complaining about hard drives not being big enough but then we went with technology that is real expensive to make large hard drives with.

Not that I am complaining, as solid state offers A LOT of advantages, but I just find it ironic that in some ways we took a temporary step backwards.

I (personally) see solid state hard-drives and conventional hard-drives filling two different jobs until solid state hard-drives have the capacity to surpass the capacity needs of the majority of users.

When I build my next PC (probably 12 months from now) I intend to have a Solid State hard-drive (or 2) to hold my operating system and program files and a conventional hard-drive to hold my data files. I really don't need that much storage space for the operating system and program files, and if I have 64GB to 128GB I think my needs would be met, but the speed advantage of these discs is easily worth the cost; at the same time, I don't need much speed to play a MP3, Video file, or to hold pictures but these files take up a lot of space and I could use 1TB or more before I upgrade my system again.
