Any console can easily do "3D" - it can even be done in software with existing titles.
The biggest problem for 3D - with glasses - is the "nature" of the console itself.
You need glasses for every person in the room - otherwise it becomes instantly unwatchable - which turns a console from a casual device, into a "hardcore" device restricted to a few people only.
...
I honestly can't see 3D taking off, until sets can generate 3D images for everyone in a room - without any glasses (etc) needed.
