The only thing I know which is CGI was the SO4 first trailers that came out around july E3 time showing world war III and the discovery of the Warp drive.

Lol, nice boxart but why "now an days" do they always put the main character in the fornt cover? lol! its like everyones doing it now.

Probably because American gamers prefer to buy games with the main character on the front.  That boxart does look pretty good.  With that boxart, they could attract a bit of the Mass Effect fanbase and well, the 360 crowd in general.
