I doubt the score will have an effect... at all.

Believe it or not, Famitsu is actually "reliable" in Japan. I mean just look at 428 Wii...the game didn't have the most hype but Famitsu's 40/40 score made preorders rise and caused Sega to ship more copies. It sold pretty well for a text adventure, too. So while some people may not care about them, it's not necessarily the same in Japan.

@mummel

Not really...they'd just move to the Wii for more development like many other devs have. But that's bad for PS3 owners lol.

@STAGE

Agree, but it's even moreso on HD consoles. Safe havens for RPGs this gen are the Wii, DS, and PSP (some are even sticking with the PS2 lol...look at Atlus)...not HD consoles, which is why you're not seeing new HD RPG announcements and more for the Wii, DS, and PSP.

The bolded is about it, the Wii's JRPGs sales have been lackluster as well.

DQS is over 700k. ToS: DotNW should hit 500k once it hits EU. Both these games are spinoffs. I don't think any of them got ads in the West, while the HD console JRPGs have.

So not really. Many devs are putting JRPGs on the Wii anyway...

Wonder which ones made the most money too. I think with Others tales will see 450ish, maybe not 500k, But still, a spin off selling more than Tov or any other HD jrpgs is indicitive of the market.
