naw Chernobal or however you spell it isn't on the same level and that's where most research on this shit is based off of... the problem is that the ground was super heated as well making the crust worthless for plant life... it would take something around 200 years to put soil on top that could support life outside of basic plants... I imagine that places like TN and KY would have plenty of plant life though so eventually life would return by a slow march from the middle of the country... Wolves would be have recovered completely as well... they are a hardy creature and fast breading to
