Most of the proposed solutions to help stop global warming would actually be beneficial to our energy infrastructure and would increase investment in things like nuclear and renewable energy. Its essentially a win-win.

Its not like global warming people are telling you to sell your souls or something. I am baffled why some people think it is their duty to criticize those who support global warming.

It is one thing to argue that for socio-economic, international-security, and environmental reasons it makes sense to reduce our dependence on (primarily imported) fossil fuels; it is another thing entirely to use the most drastic and unrealistic projections of an unproven theory to scare people into supporting legislation which is (primarily) unrealted to its stated goals.

Even if you assume that Human made global warming is happening, the relationship between an increase in CO2 and its resulting increase in temperature is logarithmic; which means that you have to double the quantity of CO2 in the atmosphere in order to increase the worlds temperature by 1 degree Celsius. There are lots of "Smart" people working on global warming, and I have yet to see one person explain how we (as a society) can Double (or Quadruple) our CO2 production without hitting a point where alternative energy sources are far less expensive than fossil fuels ... In other words, even if you assume that the theory is correct it doesn't matter because it will solve itself in a fairly short period of time.
