No it doesn't. As a platformer, it doesn't come even remotely close to Super Mario Bros. 3 or Super Mario World.

 

 It does! If you consider the whole package LBP is incredible: solid gameplay, sackboy's charm and huge possibilities of personalizating the character, amazing graphics, off and online cooperative play, great level creation tools, sharing levels, etc. This game can be enjoyed by hardcore and casuals alike. It can rival Mario.

I have to say that I really like Super Mario games (the main ones), but I'm having more fun playing this game than New Super Mario Bros, for example.
