I'm not meaning to be sarcastic but yes - I really DO want to play as a mushroom! 
That was the thing that made me interested in the game, and then I stayed interested because it looked fun, had quirky ideas, and had good reviews etc.
I'm still waiting here in the UK for it to be released. It was due to be released on the 21st of November and on 24th October Official Nintendo Magazine gave it a good review and awarded it 86%. Now it has been delayed until 6th March I wonder how many people who were interested when they read the review will actually remember to pick it up. I don't know if similar things happened in the USA but it doesn't help a game with potentially only niche appeal and a low profile.
