yeah vga was garbage.
i have no respect for game awards that buy into pure hype. all the games nominated are there primarily because of hype, which is why the wii didn't get any kind of nomination, even for brawl (which should have at least been nominated for game of the year). i personally dislike the wii, but it still deserves recognition.
and if grand theft auto 4 is truly the game of the year, how can it be that it only won one other award, that being best action adventure game, and not even best ps3/360 game? gears 2 won best 360 game. lbp won best ps3 game. that means that contest for game of the year should be between those two. for some reason, the game of the year is NOT the best ps3/360 game. how in the world can that be? totally illogical.
