Gears has co-op and multiplayer, things that add replay value considerably. It also had near flawless gameplay.

 The shooter part of Gears was near flawless, the Berserker's and vehicle part were very flawed (why the fuck can I make these awesome weapons but not a car that can shoot and drive at the same time!).  :-p
