If B/C was done through software, the only cost to Sony would be PS2 sales, which SHOULD turn into PS3 sales with this deal. The PS2 has had dramatic drops in recent months, I think it might be time to focus on the future. I do know they make a good deal of money from PS2 hardware sales, but it's better than losing $100 MORE dollars with a PS3 price cut.
The real cost is the third party titles, but Fifa included in Europe could move a lot of consoles. All the other titles belong to Sony, and the Blu Ray would be limited to pictures made by Sony.
