About time. At the least, they need to kill the "yearly concept" of NFS - and do something interesting with the brand.
The racing genre is dead - it was maxed out last generation. All racing games are now effectively the same, and there is no point to flooding the market with yet more of them. Sales of Forza II, PGR4 (etc) more than prove this point.
